Manhattan International Netball Club

Manhattan International Netball Club (MINC) was founded in 2000 by a group of women passionate about netball, with the goal of creating a community to play the sport in New York City. Today, we are proud to be the largest women’s netball club in the United States.

Our mission is to foster a social, inclusive, and positive environment where women from all over the world can connect through their shared love of netball, both on and off the court.

Before reaching out, we encourage you to review our FAQs and membership form, as they will likely answer most of your questions. If you still need further information, please don't hesitate to contact us at minc@nynetball.com.

MINC was founded by women with a passion for the game of netball, looking to build a greater community in New York City.

About Us

MINC offers four key activities throughout the year: indoor training/summer skills, an intra-club league, national tournaments, and, of course, social events.

The club hosts weekly indoor training sessions through the Winter and summer skills sessions starting in June on Pier 26 along the Hudson River. Additionally, we run outdoor leagues in Brooklyn during the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Our members also compete in tournaments across the United States and enjoy a variety of social events throughout the year!

We welcome players of all skill levels, whether you're looking for a more social experience or a competitive challenge.

Training

Training is open to players of all levels and includes a warm-up, skills & drills, and game time on an indoor court.

Players can sign up for training sessions through the Kenko app.

Our training sessions are led by our amazing coach, Stacey.

Indoor Training: Lower East Side (Jan. - March & Sept. - Nov.)
Summer Skills: Pier 26, TriBeCa (June-August)
Time: Tuesdays at 7 PM

If you don’t see sign-ups on Kenko, we are likely on a break.

Outdoor League

MINC hosts a competitive intra-club league in the spring, summer, and fall on Saturday mornings in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Players are drafted into teams for each league, and for six weeks, they battle it out in full length netball games (4 x 15mins) against other MINC teams.

The league takes place outdoors on one of the few proper netball courts in NYC — at Lincoln Terrace Park in Crown Heights, conveniently located near the 2/4 train at Utica Avenue.

The latest details and sign-up information for the league are communicated via our WhatsApp group, and players can sign up as squad members through Kenko.

2025 League Dates:

  • Spring: March 8, 2025 - April, 12 2025

  • Summer: July 12, 2025 - August 23, 2025

  • Fall: October 4, 2025 - November 8, 2025

Tournaments

MINC regularly sends teams of different skill levels to various tournaments across North America throughout the year. We offer our most competitive players the chance to compete at the highest level, while providing our more social players plenty of fun both on and off the court. In the last few years, we’ve traveled to cities such as Montreal, LA, Chicago, DC, New Orleans, and Austin for these tournaments.

Sign-ups for travel tournaments are opened up to MINC members a few months before each event, with selection based on player interest, positions, and skill level.

Social events

MINC is proud to be known as one of the most sociable netball clubs, and we take great pride in this reputation.

We host multiple large social events throughout the year, allowing the entire club to come together and celebrate, whether that’s singing our hearts out at karaoke, taking a team hike up at Cold Spring, or enjoying a beach day at Far Rockaway.

You’ll also find MINC girls grabbing brunch after league or enjoying drinks after Summer Skills, watching the sunset on the Hudson River most weeks. Our community is large and welcoming.

Many of our members join MINC new to NYC, looking for a place to connect, and we provide just that. In fact, many of our MINC teammates become lifelong friends — we even know that our original founding members are still friends to this day, 25 years later.

MINC FAQs

  • Netball is a fast-paced, team sport similar to basketball with seven players per team. The goal is to pass the ball (no traveling) and shoot into a hoop (with no backboard).

  • MINC welcomes female identifying players aged 16+ who have some netball experience, regardless of level of play. Players should be comfortable with basic netball rules and skills, as no beginner coaching is provided.

  • You can sign up for MINC sessions through the Kenko (previously called Bookee) app/website. To be able to join our whatsapp group or attend a session you will need to pay a ($40 annual fee - if joining before July, and $20 after). However, once you join your first session will be on us! Be sure to book and then come to a committee member at the session for a refund.

  • The $40 membership ensures that we can run MINC by covering insurance, affiliation fees, equipment and other day-to-day expenses. Players still pay a session fee each time they participate in a MINC activity.

  • MINC doesn’t offer beginner training, but those with basic netball experience are welcome to join. If you pretty much know the rules and played even many years ago you are good to go!

  • Currently, MINC is an adult-focused club and does not offer junior programs. If you are 16-18 years old you are welcome to join but we ask that an adult stays to supervise you during the session. If you are 14-16 years old and have played a high level of netball before coming to NYC we are happy to organize a trial session to see if you can join us.

  • MINC includes players of various skill levels — some of our players have not played since high school whereas others played regularly for a club before coming to NYC. For League and Tournaments, we do have some additional playing requirements (see these sections).
